House Passes Shareholder Vote on Executive Compensation Act
The bill would allow shareholders of corporations to at least have a say in the salaries given to executives. Passage came after defeat of a Republican motion to recommit with instructions. A motion to recommit returns a bill to committee, in effect killing it; a motion to recommit with instructions is a last opportunity to amend the bill.
